In today’s fast-paced world, more and more people are looking for a holistic approach to promote their health and well-being in the long term. But how does holistic health actually work in practice? We spoke with Davide Crocè, co-founder and personal trainer at Halo Health. In this interview, Davide talks about the importance of collaboration between different professional fields and the role of an interdisciplinary team in providing holistic care for patients.

Holistic Health as Teamwork – An Interview with Davide Crocè from Halo Health

Davide, why is holistic collaboration in a health practice so important to you?

A person’s health is complex and encompasses more than just the physical aspect. Body, mind, and emotions are closely connected and influence each other. For us, holistic collaboration means that as a team, we look at the person from different perspectives and develop individual solutions. Each of us brings our own expertise – whether in manual therapy, personal training, psychological counseling, or massage. By working together, we ensure that we provide our patients with comprehensive care and the best possible path to long-term health.

What makes your team at Halo Health stand out?

Our team consists of specialists who all share the same goal: to sustainably improve our patients’ quality of life. What makes us special is the constant exchange among us. We regularly discuss progress and challenges within the team and adjust therapy plans when necessary. For example, a patient might build muscle through my training but still struggle with tension. In such cases, I work with our therapists to find the best way to complement the treatment. This kind of collaboration is truly unique and valuable.

How does this approach affect treatment in concrete terms?

Our patients benefit from our holistic way of thinking and working. We usually start with a comprehensive needs analysis to understand which physical and mental aspects are most important. Each area then contributes its own perspective and supports the patient from different angles. It’s a bit like a puzzle – each of us adds a piece until the whole picture fits. For example, if I work with a patient on an individual training plan and notice that they are under high stress, I refer them to our psychological counseling to help reduce mental strain. This way, the entire therapy is coordinated, and the patient receives truly holistic care.

In which areas do you see particular advantages from interdisciplinary collaboration?

Collaboration shows the greatest success with more complex health issues such as chronic pain, stress, or fatigue. These concerns often have multiple causes and therefore require a multidimensional approach. Our patients come to us with a wide variety of complaints – whether physical tension, mental exhaustion, or the need for more energy and balance. Through collaboration, we can connect these different aspects and create a treatment that works on several levels. This way, patients not only achieve short-term relief but also a sustainable improvement in their well-being.

How do you proceed when a new patient comes to you?

Every treatment with us starts with a needs analysis and a personal initial consultation. We take the time to learn about the patient’s health goals and wishes, as well as to understand their current situation. This gives us a comprehensive picture and enables us to find the right starting point – whether in training, counseling, or physical treatment. We then exchange ideas within the team and jointly create a treatment plan that includes all relevant disciplines. This plan is adjusted flexibly during the course of therapy because every progress and change brings new impulses, giving us the opportunity to respond individually to the patient.

What would you recommend to people looking for a holistic health approach?

I would recommend being open to different perspectives. People often have just one specific idea in mind – for example, the belief that only exercise contributes to health, or that only relaxation helps. But a holistic approach shows that all areas are interconnected. It’s important to be supported by a team with experience in various fields that communicates regularly. That’s exactly what we offer at Halo Health: comprehensive, interdisciplinary care that focuses on the person and includes all aspects of body and mind.
